X is for…

My theme for the A to Z April Challenge for 2018 is “Me and My Blog”

Xenos is a Greek word which is a little vague in it’s true meaning and can be interpreted in a number of ways depending on the context. It is most commonly used though to indicate a stranger, foreigner, wanderer, refugue or alien.

In the world today the Xenos is often used in connection with extra-terrestrial life – Aliens. Xenology is the term used for the study of extra-terrestrial life and has featured in science fiction.

The movie Alien refers to the creature as a xenomorph (or xenomorph xx12) which means strange thing. Most people are aware that the Alien in the movies was inspired of art work by H.R Giger.

I do not study alien life however I am interested in the idea of there being other life forms that live somewhere in the universe and I honestly believe there is life out there. I do not believe they come to earth and probe random people though. In truth I am more a fan of the fictional. Science Fiction is an interesting genre and it encompasses a number of sub-genres.

So, here is the link… Tonight I am going to see Avengers : Infinity War – technically not a sci-fi sub genre but it will include species from out of this world (Aliens). Myself and my daughter are very excited to be seeing it. We wanted to see it as soon as we could, so we wouldn’t see any spoilers. I will be writing a review (spoiler free of course).

Tomorrow is the Letter Y…  Hope to see you then x
