“Anything Can Happen Thursday” in theory is a wonderful and exciting notion, full of prospects, however in practice it results in me staring at my laptop for 30 minutes trying to think of something to write.
Anything Can Happen Thursday : A day when anything could happen.
If you are a fan of The Big Bang Theory you will, no doubt, recognise the term “Anything Can Happen Thursday”. (If you are not a fan of The Big Bang Theory here is a very brief description.) In the show, Anything Can Happen Thursday occurs on the third Thursday of the month and is a day when the guys can do anything that is not scheduled. Such as, t go to the Comic Book Store, which is usually scheduled for Wednesdays. In Season 7, it is explained that Anything Can Happen Thursday was stopped due to Penny making fun of them.
I do enjoy The Big Bang Theory, I look forward to the New Season each year, I do not enjoy the mid-season breaks. It is one of those shows I have on in the background most days.
Even if you do not like, or watch The Big Bang Theory, you might have heard about one of the main characters – Sheldon Cooper.
Sheldon (Jim Parsons) is, in a sense the glue that holds the series together. Sheldon is a Theoretical Physicist at Caltech and initially shared an apartment with his friend and colleague, Leonard. Throughout the series we have often heard about Sheldon as a child. He was a prodigy, his IQ is genius level but he has problems with social situations and humour. Stories of Sheldon’s childhood have often made their way into the series. Such as the time he attempted to make a CT scanner and killed his sisters Guinea Pig, Snowball. So imagine my delight when I discovered a new spin off series…

In September it was confirmed that E4 had picked up the series and that it would air in the spring. No date though has been confirmed yet and the trailers have been running on E4 for a couple of months now. It has been airing weekly in the USA from November and in January 2018 it confirmed there was going to be a second series.
Young Sheldon, follows Sheldon Cooper at the age of 9 and is set around 1989/1990 when Sheldon starts High School. This means Sheldon is roughly the same age as me… lol! I’m interested to see how that era from my childhood is portrayed.
From what I understand Jim Parsons originally presented the idea of Young Sheldon to the TV Company in 2016. Jim Parsons also narrates the series and is an executive producer on the show.
Do you think I am going to miss watching this show? Not a Snowball’s chance in a cat-scanner.
There are ways I could watch this show before the air date in the UK but I would rather wait and hope the anticipation is worth it. I am always concerned when it comes to spin-off’s, prequels and sequels, usually I am left disappointed, however the trailers do look promising. What do you think?
