Austen Addicts

Over the past 20 years or so a number of Jane Austen inspired books have been published. I have to admit to reading and owning quite a few of them.

I may have mentioned this before but sometimes I get stuck in a bit of rut when it comes to reading. I really do enjoy reading the same books over and over again or books on the same theme. One of my past times though is to find new Austen Spin-Offs. I thought I would kick this off with a nice little series of books I found a couple of years ago. Collectively the books are known as Austen Addicts.

The main reason I love this series is the fact that there are different stories and characters in each book but in someway they all interact with each other. I really do enjoy it when a character from another book turns up in someone story.

There are six books in the Austen Addict’s Series:

  1. A Weekend with Mr Darcy
  2. The Perfect Hero (or Dreaming of Mr Darcy US Title)
  3. Mr Darcy Forever
  4. Christmas with Mr Darcy
  5. Happy Birthday Mr Darcy
  6. At Home with Mr Darcy

The first book I read in the series was The Perfect Hero. It maybe due to this that it is my favourite however, it is the only book I have found so far where my favourite Austen hero is mentioned instead of it always being Mr Darcy. Captain Wentworth is the main inspiration behind this story and I love it. I also enjoy the fact that the main character is an illustrator, who sets up a B&B in Lyme Regis and gets involved in a new movie of Persuasion.  Okay, so it is a little far fetched but it is a fun read.

The first three books are all novels inspired of Jane Austen’s works, Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion and Sense and Sensibility.  The last three are novella’s featuring the characters from the first three books.

Victoria Connelly is the author behind this series. If you want to learn more about her or her novels <<<CLICK HERE>>> to go to her website.
