This is the first book in a series known as the Outlaw Chronicles by Angus Donald. They follow the life of the Outlaw known as Robin Hood, as told through the eyes of Alan of Dale. This book was recommended to me by someone who knew of my love for Robin Hood and it is one of the best Robin Hood books I have ever read.

Since reading the first book I have become addicted to the series and I am holding out on the last two books because I don’t want it to end. I also know that I will have to read those books together when I have no work or any other commitments because finishing this series is going to give me one big book hangover.

Angus Donald has to be one of my favourite authors, his writing is very descriptive and the historical references are spot on. I have had the privilege of speaking to him on-line (very briefly) but would love to get to speak to him at a book signing or something. There is talk about the Outlaw Chronicles becoming a TV series, I would love to see this.
