Booktober Challenge Post 3

Today I am not going to waffle on about what a hard decision this is because this isn’t. I have lots of authors whose work I love and admire. I hope to mention them at some point in the month. My favourite Author though is easy…

I love Jane Austen. Not only do I love her works but I also enjoy learning about her, her life, her family, the time she lived and the challenges she faced. Many of the books I have found myself reading since I was a teenager, have in some way been inspired by the works of this wonderful lady.

I wonder what she would think if she could see the adaptations of her work as moving pictures. The other authors who have been influenced by Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett so much they have created their own worlds based on Austen’s world. The exact number of books/stories inspired by this Lady probably runs into the thousands.

The 16 December is Jane Austen Day, so I am going to have a big Jane Austen post on that day. Give you the reasons why, some facts and probably mention a couple of my favourite hero’s. Maybe even a week of Jane Austen related posts may be called for. As one post cannot contain my admiration of Miss Austen and her fabulous works.
